From Vision to Production: Incorporating new technology and techniques into your CARIS workflow to prepare for the dynamic future of hydrographic products and services Emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and cloud-based services, have the potential to revolutionize both what we think is possible, and how we approach challenges in our hydrographic workflows. From ocean mapping, to chart production and data sharing, expectations around the who, what, where and how are changing.

Teledyne CARIS invites you to engage in a workshop where we will explore and discuss how to leverage new technologies and techniques to enhance the full CARIS Ping-to-Chart workflow.  This will include:
•    Exploring what AI can bring to hydrography
•    Test driving the new Noise Classifier in HIPS and SIPS with your own data to see how a convolutional neural network can automatically remove noise from multibeam data
•    How to bring automation into survey and chart production workflows including smart sounding selection to reduce turn-around time and human effort
•    How to get the most from your single source databases when adding new on-demand and on-the-shelf products and services (S-101, S-102) to your portfolio
•    Leveraging the cloud to access scalable storage and processing resources and to streamline data sharing with stakeholders

Workshop participants will develop a better understanding of how they can bring efficiencies and new possibilities into their own production workflows using CARIS software and services. 


QPS Major New Releases: Qinsy, Qimera 2, and Fledermaus 8

QPS has recently launched major new software versions of Qinsy, Qimera, and Fledermaus, with the primary focus on cross-product features through the product line. Now more tightly integrated than ever, the workflow from survey planning to final product delivery has never been easier.

In this workshop, QPS will present the latest features integrated through the product line, which include a brand new dynamic surface file format, new project dialogs, and a new geodetic configuration interface. Also presented will be the new look and feel of Qinsy 9, along with SVP folder monitoring and an online line log. Qimera 2 features enhanced LiDAR functionality, compatibility with R2Sonic TruePix in our Water Column Viewer, support for refraction corrections for Structure from Motion (SfM) bathymetry, the addition of the Isolated Cluster Removal filter, an SVP “crossfade” to help smooth out transitions between SVP casts, and much more. New features in Fledermaus 8 include enhanced presentation capabilities, as well as the exciting new 3D Mesh technology that has inherent advantages over gridded bathymetry. Come join us!
